YRC Worldwide moves up FORTUNE 500 List
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (April 17, 2007) — YRC Worldwide Inc. has climbed 14 spots to No. 249 on the 2007 FORTUNE 500 list of the largest American companies. The company also ranks No. 1 in the trucking/truck leasing category on the list, and is only Kansas-based company to make to top 500, YRC noted in a news release.
“We are extremely proud to receive this recognition as a leader in Kansas, the nation and our industry,” said Bill Zollars, chairman, president and CEO of YRC Worldwide, in a company stement. “Our continued climb on the list is evidence of the ability of our business units to satisfy customers with a broader portfolio of global service capabilities.”
YRC Worldwide, previously Yellow Roadway Corp., debuted at No. 307 on the 2005 FORTUNE 500 list.
YRC Worldwide is the holding company for a portfolio of successful brands including Yellow Transportation, Roadway, Reimer Express, Meridian IQ, New Penn, USF Holland, USF Reddaway, and USF Glen Moore.
The 2007 FORTUNE 500 list appears in the April 30, 2007 issue of FORTUNE magazine.
