XM radio show to focus on business aspects of independent trucking
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (April 6, 2007) — ATBS, in partnership with Kevin Rutherford, today announced an agreement with XM Satellite Radio to air a new show called ATBS Trucking Business & Beyond dedicated to educating owner-operators and company drivers on how to be more profitable and successful.
ATBS Trucking Business & Beyond will debut on April 14 on XM Satellite Radio’s Open Road Channel (XM Channel 171) and will air every Saturday and Sunday live from 4-7 p.m. ET and will consist of a combination of host talk, call-in questions and industry-expert guests.
Encore broadcasts of each show will air Sunday and Monday from 3-6:00 a.m. ET.
Kevin Rutherford, a principal at ATBS, will host ATBS Trucking Business & Beyond.
Todd Amen, president of ATBS, said Rutherford has extensive knowledge of independent trucking and the owner-operator world, adding that over the years, Rutherford’s experience has evolved into a comprehensive slate of professional skills that include tax, accounting and financial planning as well as trucking industry expertise.
“I'm very excited to be working with XM Radio,” Rutherford said. “ATBS Trucking Business & Beyond is a great opportunity to educate professional drivers on how to make smart business decisions. Through XM Radio, we’ll be able to reach thousands of drivers, providing information that they need to improve their businesses.”
“ATBS Trucking Business & Beyond will be the first show of its kind totally dedicated to the financial success of the American trucker,” Amen said. “The knowledge and expertise we have gained through managing the books and taxes for thousands of drivers combined with Kevin’s down-to-earth ability to communicate with drivers will provide listeners with the knowledge they need to increase their earnings every year while doing the same amount of work or less.”
Founded in 1998, ATBS is a provider of business consulting, accounting, tax, education and benchmarking services to owner-operators, fleets, finance companies and other partners in the trucking industry.
