GOULDSBORO, Pa. — State police, volunteer firefighters, and K-9 units from other counties and states on Thursday searched along interstate highways in the Poconos for possibly more remains or clues leading to the identity of a woman whose body parts were found in garbage bags along Interstates 80 and 380 on Tuesday.

The search began about 9:30 a.m., and involved 52 troopers and firefighters who were deployed in three teams on I-380, according to reports by various news agencies.

A helicopter was also being used, and some teams were using all-terrain vehicles to scour the along the highways.

Teams near the Tobyhanna exit of I-380 reportedly found a pair of gloves, which were photographed and taken away as possible evidence.

The search was expected to take several hours and motorists in the search areas were being cautioned to slow down.

Travelers were also advised to expect rolling road blocks and slow-moving traffic as temporary lane closures were possible.

K-9 units from the New York State Police and the Dauphin County Sheriff's Department searched earlier in the day along I-80 just west of Stroudsburg, Pa.

Three cadaver dogs were brought in to scour the areas near the westbound entrance ramp from Route 611 in the vicinity of Milepost 303.

Searchers said conditions were generally good for the dogs to work, but that they had to be kept on leashes because of the interstate traffic.
