FLEMINGTON, N.J. — A judge on Thursday sentenced a truck driver suspected of attacking women in several states to 50 years in prison for killing a New Jersey woman.
Adam Lane must first finish serving a 25-year sentence in Massachusetts for an unrelated attack on a 15-year-old girl.
The 44-year-old last month admitted murdering Monica Massaro in 2007. Lane had entered her Bloomsbury home and slit the 38-year-old's throat.
Lane said nothing during the sentencing.
Lane is also charged in the death of a Pennsylvania woman last year and the slashing of another.
Authorities in Lane's hometown of Jonesville, N.C., have said they want to question him about the unsolved 1996 killing of a police officer.
