SAN MATEO, CA — Menlo Worldwide Logistics LLC, the third-party logistics (3PL) subsidiary of Con-way Inc., has formally introduced its multi-client network of logistics services to meet the rising trend of customers seeking flexible, scalable and customizable warehouse offerings, the company said Tuesday.
With multi-client warehouse management solutions, customers of every size can outsource any level of warehousing, distribution and transportation management operations. Menlo’s offering is designed to help the customer mitigate asset risk, providing a cost-effective bridge between single-warehouse solutions such as committing to a dedicated facility, utilizing public warehouse space or having to internalize the function.
The company undertook a pilot program to develop its multi-client platform nearly two years ago, modeled on its flagship multi-client operation in Fremont, Calif. Based on that model, Menlo is rolling out six fully operational, strategically located facilities throughout the United States, including locations in Atlanta; Dallas; Aurora, Ill.; Cranbury, N.J.; Fontana, Calif.; and Portland, Ore. Outside the United States, Menlo offers multi-client network facilities in Mexico, Canada, Asia and Europe.
