DANVILLE, Pa. — State police said a trucker died Thursday when his rig crashed into two others and caught fire on Interstate 80 in north-central Pennsylvania.
The accident occurred around 1 a.m. between the Danville and Buckhorn exits in Montour County.
Police said an eastbound tractor-trailer had slowed because of a flat tire and was struck from behind by a second tractor-trailer. A third tractor-trailer ran into the wreckage and caught fire.
Police said the driver of the third rig died at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
One of the other drivers was taken to Geisinger Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries.
