FALCONER, N.Y. — Truck-Lite has released a rugged LED Flood Lamp, an addition to its popular Work Lamp line, according to a new release.
The new lamp produces 323 lumens with a maximum intensity of 951 candela at 12.0 volts, almost double the light output of comparable vehicle-mounted flood lamps. Using Truck-Lite’s “signature” 6-diode pattern, they generate full brightness from only 8.5 volts for 12-v models and from 21-v for 24-v models. Both 12- and 24-volt models have over-voltage protection. Twelve-volt models use 1.2 amps, while 24-volt lamps need only 0.5 amps.
The Flood Lamp is made with a die cast aluminum housing with polycarbonate lens and is protected with a black powder coat finish, designed to stand up to adverse environmental and atmospheric elements. Mounting hardware is stainless steel. The polycarbonate lens system developed in Truck-Lite’s extensive engineering facility projects wide, rectangular illumination ideal for a wide variety of vehicle-related applications. LED light is brighter and whiter than incandescent light.
“In today’s 24/7 operating conditions, flood lights are essential in vocational and service applications,” said Brad Van Riper, senior vice president and chief technical officer. “Truck-Lite analyzed customer needs and, using our most advanced computers, developed the new LED Flood Lamp to meet those needs. The lamp provides full brightness at voltage as low as 8.5 volts so they work under almost any electrical conditions a vehicle may experience.”
