Parts of I-26 to close this week for concrete inspections

FLETCHER, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation says lanes of Interstate 26 will be closed nightly this week in Henderson County for inspection of concrete before replacement begins.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports Monday that the DOT said a westbound lane between Asheville Regional Airport at Exit 40 and Exit 44 will close starting Tuesday at 7 p.m. The lane will reopen at 6 a.m. the next day.

An eastbound lane is scheduled to close Wednesday in the same section during the same times.

The DOT said concrete replacement is scheduled to start Sunday, June 8.
