LA CROSSE, Wis. — A recliner found along an Iowa highway by a La Crosse truck driver was more than abandoned debris.

It was pain relief for a disabled Operation Desert Storm veteran. And, it's back with its rightful owner, thanks to the trucker.

Raymond Lee found the boxed chair last week along Highway 9 near Grafton, Iowa. The recliner fell off the back of a pickup truck while Jim Erickson's wife was taking it to St. Ansgar, Iowa.

The chair's heating and vibrating features relieve Erickson's pain as a result of injuries sustained during his military service.

Lee searched for the owner, then saw a story about the missing chair in a Mason City, Iowa newspaper. Lee contacted the Worth County (Iowa) Sheriff's Department and the chair eventually was returned to Erickson.
