SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — MCT Transportation LLC a full truckload carrier of general commodities for products requiring refrigerated services and dry goods, recently expanded operations to include a new West Coast produce division.
“This is an exciting development for us,” Chris Swain, MCT West Coast Sales Director, said. “Our employees entered into this with knowledge of the market and that has contributed to our success. To date, we’re moving close to 100 loads each week from the West Coast and still expanding. The MCT Produce Division has been well received by our clients.”
With the new division, MCT has incorporated new lanes of service.
“We’re now moving produce outbound of California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, South Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Basically, all of the growing states,” Swain said.
MCT, headquartered in Sioux Falls, is a 100 percent owner-operator company.
With the addition of MCT’s new West Coast produce division, the company plans to hire more drivers to meet client needs.
“More and more customers are requesting teams on the West Coast, so we are working to fill that demand,” Swain said.
MCT’s parent company is Comcar Industries. Headquartered in Auburndale, Fla., Comcar is one of the nation’s largest trucking groups with 53 strategically located terminals across the country. Comcar companies operate more than 4,000 power units.
