Poll: more truckers will vote for McCain than think he'll win

68 percent of truckers who answered the unscientific poll said they would vote for the presumptive Republican nominee if the election were held today.

LITTLE ROCK — Far more truckers say they’ll vote for John McCain than think he will win, according to a recent poll conducted on www.thetrucker.com.

Of the 362 truckers who participated in the unscientific poll, 246, or 68 percent, said they would vote for the presumptive Republican nominee if the election were held today.

The poll recorded 116 who said they would vote for Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

But only 53 percent of those said they felt McCain would actually defeat Obama were the election held today.
