3 killed in van-log truck crash on Interstate 95

FLORENCE, S.C. — Troopers on Thursday said three people have died after a van hit a log truck on Interstate 95 near Florence earlier this week.

Florence County Coroner M.G. "Bubba" Matthews identified the victims as 20-year-old Sofonias Debebe of Alexandria, Va.; 8-year-old Deraa Hago of London; and 20-year-old Abdurahman Abdurahman. All three died at the scene of the crash late Tuesday night.

Authorities said the three were among 10 people in the van as it was traveling northbound on I-95.

Troopers said they won't release any more details about the wreck until their investigation is completed.
