TA reopens Porter, Indiana location after major renovations

The Porter, Ind., TA renovation includes many improved driver amenities, including new restrooms, nine new driver showers, new game room and renovated TV lounge, according to TA. In addition, fuel island upgrades and expanded truck parking by 60 spaces were completed.

WESTLAKE, Ohio — TravelCenters of America LLC has reopened its Porter, Ind., location after a major renovation project, the truck stop chain said. Porter is situated on I-94 and U.S. Route 20 (Exit 22B).

The Porter renovation includes many improved driver amenities, including new restrooms, nine new driver showers, new game room and renovated TV lounge, according to TA. In addition, fuel island upgrades and expanded truck parking by 60 spaces were completed.

The 168 seat Buckhorn Family Restaurant was extensively upgraded. TA operates 129 full-service restaurants across the U.S. and Canada including 23 Buckhorn locations.

The new food court added quick-serve concepts to an existing Subway made-fresh deli; Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, serving New Orleans Cajun style chicken, and a Taco Bell/Pizza Hit Express combination. The new food court adds another 86 seats for on-premise dining patrons. TA operates nearly 230 quick-serve restaurants across the U.S. and Canada.

The restrooms and showers are newly renovated as well. The Porter location features a two-bay heavy truck ServicePoint facility and other amenities.
