Truckers running hazardous materials will have to bypass the Denver area during the Democratic National Convention later this month, according to the Colorado State Patrol and the Denver Police Department.

Officials announced special routing for hazmat transporters during the convention, which runs from Aug. 23-30.

All truck drivers should expect delays if traveling through the Denver area during the convention, CMCA said.

The restrictions apply for traveling southbound on Interstate 25 from the junction with I-76 to the junction of I-225, and northbound from the I-225 junction to the junction with I-76.
