Diesel down sixth straight week to $4.145 per gallon

Since reaching an all-time high of $4.764 on July 14, the average price has dropped $0.61.9, in a six week straight slide. However, the price today was still $1.282 per gallon more than it was one year ago for the same week.

The weekly on-highway diesel price U.S. average today was down $0.062 per gallon from one week ago reaching $4.145 a gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Since reaching an all-time high of $4.764 on July 14, the average price has dropped $0.61.9, in a six week straight slide. However, the price today was still $1.282 per gallon more than it was one year ago for the same week.

Every region showed a drop this week. California recorded a $0.063 per gallon reduction to $4.359 a gallon, still up $1.373 from one year ago.

The region with the lowest price was the Midwest at $4.073 per gallon, a $0.057 drop from last week. The highest prices were found in the New England region at $4.382 per gallon, down $0.040 per gallon from last week.
