HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission says it's narrowed the locations for nine toll collection sites along Interstate 80 to 20 zones.
The commission released the list at a Harrisburg news conference on Wednesday.
Officials say the final sites will be selected to maximize revenue and minimize the number of cars seeking alternative routes.
They're also touting a plan to limit how many local drivers will have to pay tolls. The proposal would let passenger vehicles with E-ZPass transponders go through the first toll plaza for free.
A decision about exactly where to put the nine tolling plazas is expected sometime this fall.
