ARLINGTON, Va.— America’s Road Team is in Somerset, Ky. this weekend to educate motorcyclists at the Kentucky Blue Grass Blast on how to drive safely alongside tractor-trailers.
Captains Wayne Crowder (FedEx Freight) and Clarence Jenkins (UPS Freight) will talk to the members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association about the life of a professional truck driver and the essentiality of the industry. They will stage demonstrations on how motorcycles can safely pass a truck and gives tips on good driving practices.
“This is the second large motorcycle event I’ve spoken at recently,” said Captain Wayne Crowder. “After attending Americade in Lake George, N.Y. and then traveling a little closer to home to Somerset, Ky. to talk to riders, I feel we’re sharing a very important message. And as gas prices continue to rise, motorcycle traffic safety will be even more important.”
