Diesel drop continues, down 6.5 cents to $3.958
On April 7 the U.S. average per gallon was $3.955 a gallon which was the last time diesel had fallen below the $4.00 per gallon mark. The highest price ever recorded was $4.764 a gallon on July 14.

The weekly retail on-highway diesel price U.S. average dropped for the tenth straight week, falling below $4.00 for the first time since April. Today’s average U.S. price was $3.958 per gallon which was a drop of $0.065 per gallon from last week, but still up $0.926 from the same week a year ago, according to the Energy Information Administration.
On April 7 the U.S. average per gallon was $3.955 a gallon which was the last time diesel had fallen below the $4.00 per gallon mark. The highest price ever recorded was $4.764 a gallon on July 14.
The East Coast region ($4.021), New England region ($4.110), and Central Atlantic region ($4.081), all were still above $4.00 per gallon on Sept. 22. But every region showed a drop this week, including those still above $4.00 per gallon.
California was at $3.951 per gallon, a drop of $0.102 per gallon, up $0.858 from the same week last year.
