FleetPride acquires Bound Brook Safety Equipment Co.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — FleetPride Inc., the nation’s largest independent aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, reports that it has acquired Bound Brook Safety Equipment Co., a subsidiary of Somerset Tire Service Inc. Safety Equipment is located in Edison, N.J.

Safety Equipment has eight employees and FleetPride has offered employment to all of them. Industry veterans with over four decades of experience, Rocco Marinelli, branch manager, and Bill Albers, assistant manager, will stay on in leadership roles after the transaction is complete.

“This acquisition marks our entrance into the New Jersey market. The state’s high concentration of heavy duty truck business and its proximity to numerous national FleetPride accounts make it a natural expansion location for us,” said Mike Paxton, FleetPride’s vice president of business development and strategic planning. “We will now be able to better serve our large New Jersey customer base within the same geographical market.”

“FleetPride currently carries over 180,000 sku’s — and it is this product and service depth that will allow us to quickly become a key player in this region’s vibrant market,” said Bill Vingiano, FleetPride’s vice president, Northeast region.
