Diesel decline stalls with tenth of a cent increase to $3.959

The all time record high U.S. average for a gallon of diesel was $4.764 on July 14.

The weekly on-highway diesel price remained relatively the same this week after a rise of just $0.001 a gallon after falling for 10 straight weeks. This week’s price of $3.959 is $0.911 more than the same week last year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Results by region varied from small declines to small gains, with none of the increases at more than a half a cent. The Rocky Mountain region was down $0.020 per gallon showing the largest drop of any region.

California’s average price per gallon on Sept. 29 was $3.963, up $0.012 from one week ago and up $0.820 from the same week last year.

The all time record high U.S. average for a gallon of diesel was $4.764 on July 14.
