Vigillo unveils CSA 2010 Preview Scorecard
The CSA 2010 Preview Scorecard from Vigillo mirrors the new FMCSA program by using carrier and driver data to produce the same measures, the company said. Included are summary and detail reports for each BASIC, overall reports by BASIC, violations and drivers, and individual driver preview reports.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Vigillo LLC, which provides a web-based risk management platform for the delivery of policies, forms, training, assessments and management reports to the trucking industry, will offer a new CSA 2010 Preview Scorecard. The latest offering is designed to give trucking companies an advance look at their fleet safety data that will be included in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s new CSA 2010 (Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010) initiative.
The scorecard is available to new customers and as an upgrade for existing customers as a low cost monthly subscription, the company said.
“Vigillo is the only company that can take a motor carrier’s existing safety data and show what it will look like when CSA 2010 goes into effect next year, impacting over 750,000 companies,” said Steven G. Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “By using the same algorithms and methodologies as FMCSA, we’ve created a solution that allows carriers to use data available today to get ahead of the curve and to see what their fleet will look like under CSA 2010. No one else is able to offer this capability.”
CSA 2010, a new system of measuring fleet safety, will be the basis for regulating and enforcing safe driving and operating practices. Set to replace FMCSA’s existing SafeStat program next year, the program is currently being tested in eight states. The more comprehensive enforcement and compliance model includes seven BASICs (Behavioral Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories) covering Unsafe Driving, Fatigued Driving, Driver Fitness, Controlled Substance, Vehicle Maintenance, Improper Loading and Crash Indicator. Planned are several built-in and automatic intervention levels ranging from early warning letters, on- and off-site investigations and safety plans to out-of-service orders.

“CSA 2010 represents a significant increase in government oversight of carriers and interaction with individual drivers,” Bryan stated. “This is a brand new level of analysis and intervention for motor carriers. With our CSA 2010 Preview Scorecard, they can get a nine-month head start on the new safety scoring system.”
Founded in 2007, Vigillo says more than 200 fleets across the country utilize its fleet scorecard technology. The Vigillo team consists of regulatory, safety, HR, operations, management and technology experts and a senior management team with more than 40 years combined experience in delivering enterprise software to solve a variety of corporate and educational management problems.
