Diesel falls slightly to $2.801

After four weeks of increasing prices, the weekly retail on-highway diesel price dropped slightly to return to the price it was Oct. 26, $2.801 per gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Diesel dropped this week $0.008 per gallon. And while it is dropping much slower than it increased, at least it didn’t get any higher. The price this week was $0.143 less than it was the same week last year.

The Rocky Mountain region was the only area that diesel increased this week, up $0.013 to $2.823.

The most expensive diesel was found in the Central Atlantic region at $2.926 per gallon and California at $2.972 per gallon.

The least expensive was the Gulf Coast at $2.746 per gallon which was down $0.003 from the week before.
