VICKSBURG, Miss.  — Officials say work on the Mississippi River Bridge on Interstate 20 in Vicksburg will begin Monday.

State highway officials say the repair work was being done by the Louisiana Department of Transportation.

Crews will close the westbound outside lane from Monday through April 9. Crews will again close the westbound outside lane on April 14 and it will remain closed until May 30.

Mississippi transportation officials say that during the lane closings, vehicles 12 feet wide will be allowed to pass through the construction work zone.

On each Friday during the closures from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., a minimum horizontal clearance of 18 feet will be provided to allow wide loads to pass through the work zone.
