TULSA, Okla. The owners and staff of Tenstreet LLC, one of North America’s leading suppliers of services and solutions that help truck fleets better manage human resources and driver pools, is encouraging members of the trucking industry to visit a new Web site that has been created to help combat the growing proliferation of modern-day slavery.

The site — click here — was recently launched by a group known as Truckers Against Human Trafficking.

The group notes that human trafficking is a $32 billion worldwide industry with more than 27 million people enslaved, and that it has been reported in all 50 states and the number of victims in the U.S. is estimated in hundreds of thousands. This Web site allows truck drivers and other travelers to learn what you can do to help stop the practice.

Links on the site are also available to find out:

• What members of the trucking industry can do to help in the fight against this horrible crime

• Informational resources, including FBI intelligence reports

• Videos of real-life slavery victims, and

• News and updates on the problem, as well as how to contact Truckers Against Human Trafficking to lend support.

The site also points out that around the world there are an estimated 27 million slaves today, a figure that is higher than at any other time in world history. In the U.S. alone, conservative estimates state that 17,000 people are trafficked every year with some 200,000 to 300,000 here today.  The vast majority are women; many are children.

Tenstreet was established in 2006, and currently works with a wide range of private and for-hire trucking fleets throughout North America.  Tenstreet focuses its sales and marketing efforts entirely within the trucking industry, and is committed to providing world-class, customer-specific solutions that help fleets recruit, hire and retain drivers.
