N.D. Legislature approves $1.4 billion road spending bill

BISMARCK, N.D. — North Dakota House members are praising a state transportation budget of more than $1.3 billion.

Representatives approved the plan Thursday. It now goes to Gov. John Hoeven.

The bill represents a 50 percent increase from current spending levels.

It has emergency aid for local governments to repair roads damaged by flooding and heavy snow.

The bill includes $176 million in federal stimulus aid.
