DES PLAINES, Ill. — New Year’s Day 2009 was the leading holiday for vehicle theft, and drivers should be vigilant this coming New Year’s holiday as well, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
Of course, while many truckers will be working this upcoming holiday, the NICB warns that thieves don’t take a holiday although Christmas Day historically is the time when the least vehicle thefts occur.
