Price of gallon of diesel drops another 4.6 cents

WASHINGTON — Producers of diesel appear to be getting into the holiday spirit.
The average on-highway price of a gallon of diesel dropped another 4.6 cents a gallon to $3.945 for the week ending Dec. 17, according to the Energy Information Administration of the Department of Energy.
That a drop of almost a 10 since the price hit $4.034 for the week ending Nov. 26, the EIA reported.
Every region of the country reported a decline, topped by the 7.2 cent drop in the Rocky Mountain states.
Prices in the Midwest decline 5.9 cents a gallon.
However, the price is still 11.7 cents a gallon higher than one year ago.
