TACOMA, Wash. — Interstate Distributor Co. has announced a new pay package for over-the-road (OTR) regional drivers. The “My Pay” package provides drivers a competitive base rate per mile and the ability to add an additional 3¢ per mile quarterly.
“Since joining Interstate in February, I have heard from our driving associates that they wanted to be rewarded for their personal performance and have an opportunity to earn more money,” said Marc Rogers, Interstate Distributor Co. president and CEO. “We heard their ideas on how Interstate should reward drivers for exceptional performance, and now we’re starting the process of doing something about it.”
My Pay is focused on safety, service and operational excellence. These core principles are foundation for the success Interstate is experiencing under Rogers’ leadership, the company said. Interstate is creating new jobs, adding more home time options, improving average weekly miles, and adding 350 new 2013 Freightliners to its fleet.
“Interstate values our driving associates, and the purpose of this incentive is to reward their outstanding performance,” said Rogers. “I’m excited to be a part of such a great organization with committed individuals who do great things every day.”
Effective July 1, Interstate introduced My Pay for OTR drivers running in its 11-Western, US-East, and Mid-West Regional fleets. My Pay provides drivers with a very competitive base rate per mile and a quarterly performance incentive of up to 3¢ per mile. My Pay rewards the drivers that excel in safety, service and operational excellence metrics. The program is structured to provide realistic targets that drivers can actually achieve each quarter. With My Pay, Interstate’s driving associates control their own destiny – they decide how much they want to make, the company said.
