Petri, who served last terms as the chairman of the Subcommittee on Aviation, has represented Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District since 1980.
Shuster released his choices for the committee’s leadership Wednesday.
He named Rep. John J. Duncan Jr., R-Tenn., as full committee vice chairman.
Other subcommittee chairmen include Rep. Frank LoBiondo, R-N.J., Aviation; Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation; Rep. Lou Barletta, R-Penn., Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management; Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Calif., Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials; and Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, Water Resources and Environment.
“We have an extremely talented team of capable, proven leaders with diverse backgrounds that will be instrumental in the Committee’s important work this Congress,” Shuster said. “I look forward to working together to promote competitiveness and economic growth, reform programs, and strengthen our nation’s infrastructure.”
The vice chairman and subcommittee chairmen are expected to be confirmed at the Committee’s organizational meeting on January 23.
Full subcommittee rosters will also be released at that time.
