Mesa County authorities conduct traffic sweep

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Authorities in Mesa County conducted a traffic sweep over the weekend that resulted in at least 15 arrests, multiple traffic tickets and the seizure of 92 pounds of marijuana.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel (http://tinyurl.com/jwc3klp0 , the effort targeting motorists included the Colorado State Patrol, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, and Grand Junction and Fruita police.

The state patrol says the effort was aimed at catching drug traffickers, car thieves, drunk drivers and motorists who were speeding.
