BOONE, N.C. — An 11-mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway will close for repairs on a bridge.
Leesa Sutton Brandon with the parkway says the road will be closed from Milepost 270 to Milepost 281 beginning Wednesday.
Work is being done on the granite retaining walls and bridge that crosses U.S. 421 in Boone.
Brandon says that section of the parkway is expected to be closed until about Jan. 1.
Detour signs are being posted around the construction area.
