Colorado highways closed because of snow and ice

The Associated Press

DENVER — Colorado interstate highways are closed to New Mexico and Kansas because of snow and ice.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said Thursday Interstate-70 is closed eastbound from Limon to Kansas and northbound Interstate-25 is closed between Walsenburg to the New Mexico state line because of dangerous conditions.

The National Weather Service says snow from a spring storm is tapering off across the state, but hazardous conditions still exist in many areas.
