The Associated Press

DOVER, N.H. — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting to give an update on the widening of a 3.5-mile section of the Spaulding Turnpike, or Route 16.

The section starts north of Exit 1 in Newington and runs to the Dover Toll Plaza, just north of Exit 6 in Dover.

The department plans to give a progress report on construction of the Spaulding Turnpike bridge over the Little Bay, and a review of the construction segment for the turnpike approach reconstruction in the town of Newington.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Dover City Hall Auditorium.
