The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association will hold a 40th anniversary celebration Oct. 18-19 at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., and truckers need to register before July 31 to be eligible to win a 32-inch color TV.

“For the first time the management and staff at OOIDA are calling on our members and all interested truckers and their families to come together in a single national even and share in the pride, accomplishments and camaraderie of being part of the largest trucker organization in the country, now 40 years strong,” stated an OOIDA news release.

Show offerings include seminars on the business aspects of trucking, new developments in health care insurance requirements and road rules and regulations.

A Wellness Pavilion will feature information on new health exchanges under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as well information on sleep apnea, blood pressure testing and updates on current regulatory initiatives.

Also during the celebration, trucking fleets will be recruiting new drivers and the American Truck Historical Society will be displaying classic truck models.

Reportedly, hotels in the area are quickly filling up. Visit www.ooidtruckshow.com for hotel information and special show rates.
