US 6 to be closed for work in eastern Nebraska

The Associated Press

LINCOLN, Neb. — Work on an Interstate 80 bridge will force temporary closure of U.S. Highway 6 between Lincoln and Waverly.

The Nebraska Roads Department says the highway will be closed at the I-80 bridge at 10 p.m. Thursday and reopened at 6 a.m. Friday. That will allow workers to install girders for the new westbound I-80 bridge.

If the work isn't finished overnight, then the closure will be repeated Friday night.
