Crash involving 2 trucks, bus shuts down freeway
The Associated Press
BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A crash involving two tractor-trailers and a Greyhound bus has shut down part of Interstate 96 northwest of Lansing in Ionia County.
The crash occurred about noon near Berlin Township in the freeway's westbound lanes.
WOOD-TV reports that the bus was hit by one of the trucks. The first truck then was hit by a second truck. Authorities say the driver of the second truck has been airlifted to a hospital.
State police say other accidents and road construction may have contributed to the wreck involving the bus and trucks.
Bus passenger Jordan Wilson tells MLive.com that the Greyhound driver pumped the vehicle's brakes because there was a crash up ahead. Wilson says he then "felt a bump."
Wilson says at least 25 people were on the bus.
