RICHMOND, Va. — Three companies have submitted a proposal to finance, design and build a new interchange in Lynchburg.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said Tuesday that the unsolicited proposal from English Construction, Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Raymond James is being reviewed by the state.
The interchange would be located along U.S. 460 at Odd Fellows Road.
McDonnell says Odd Fellows Road would be improved between the interchange and the Lynchburg Expressway. The project also includes improvements to Greenview Drive.
McDonnell says the project would ease truck congestion and improve safety.
Competing proposals will be sought if the Virginia Department of Transportation commissioner advances the proposal to the procurement stage.
