Big rig hits bridge being built on I-215

PERRIS, Calif. — The California Department of Transportation says southbound lanes of Interstate 215 are closed in Riverside County after a big rig hit an overpass construction project in Perris.
Caltrans says the truck hit the so-called false work of the bridge at Perris Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The southbound lanes are expected to remain closed for at least 24 hours so that the damaged false work can be removed and rebuilt.
