DALLAS — The wooden crates are piled high, the trucks are in place and in every corner of the Dallas Convention Center exhibit hall men and women are scurrying about to put the final — and in some cases the first — touches on booths that will be pristine when the 15th annual Great American Trucking Show opens here Thursday at noon.

The show runs through Saturday.

Shows hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Well in excess of 40,000 are expected to attend the show.

Some of the events that will be held during show include the Pride and Polish Truck Beauty Competition, educational seminars sponsored by the Texas Motor Transport Association, free concerts from top country music artists and exhibits from leaders in the heavy duty trucking.

The Red Eye Radio Network’s lobby booth will be turning up the heat with country music stars Chris Cagle, Jaida Dreyer, Austin Webb, and Dakota Bradley signing autographs from the Red Eye Radio booths during the show.

Even the weatherman is cooperating.

Known for its 100-plus humid weather, Dallas is coming in at a “balmy” 96 degrees on Thursday, 95 on Friday and 96 on Saturday.

There is a 10 percent of rain on Thursday, none on Friday and Saturday.

There is free truck parking adjacent to the convention center.
