LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Dometic Group, a global provider of comfort products for the trucking industry, today announced that it will launch the Dometic Split-System BliZZard 134a, a battery-operated air conditioning unit for trucks at this year’s Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), to be held March 27-29 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Ky.

The BliZZard air conditioning system, which will be on display at Booth #14252, is a highly efficient auxiliary A/C unit that allows truckers to cool their sleeper cabs without running the truck engine. The most quiet and efficient unit of its kind, the BliZZard is simple to install, and provides 10+ hours of cooling.

“For any trucker, a good night’s sleep is invaluable. This air conditioner provides hours of quiet, energy-efficient comfort. It is simple to install, with a smart digital thermostat that ensures precise temperature control and optimal operation,” said James Kerrigan, VP of OEM Sales in Dometic’s Commercial and Passenger Vehicle division. “At the same time, the BliZZard is made of heavy duty materials that are vibration and corrosion resistant.”

Available in 7,000 and 10,000 BTU models, the battery-powered split system allows the noise of the condenser unit to remain outside while the quieter evaporator unit blows cool air to the cab’s interior. Made in the USA, the BliZZard is SmartWay and EPA certified. It uses environmentally safe and commonly available R134a refrigerant

With a very small footprint relative to cooling capacity, the Split-System BliZZard A/C unit requires minimal installation space and its flexible refrigerant line sets require minimal holes in the cab floor or panels. Units and line sets are pre-charged, and refrigerant line connections made with no-leak quick-connect fittings, allowing for easier and faster installation. Easily accessible external service ports provide quick and easy service access if needed with use of existing equipment.

The Split-System BliZZard is also available with optional electric heat to provide heated comfort without running the engine. For both cooling and heating, the system complies with all federal, state and local anti-idling regulations.

Service for the BliZZard is available nationwide, with the best warranty in the industry.
