PRINCETON, N.J. — Richie Henderson, senior vice president of administration and technology at J.B. Hunt Transport Services and former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood headline the list of speakers for 2014 ALK Transportation Technology Summit.
The event, hosted by ALK Technologies, will take place May 19-21, 2014 in Princeton, New Jersey.
"This marks our 10th year of bringing together industry thought leaders and senior transportation executives to review the current state of the industry, highlight innovative technology trends and share valuable strategic visions that drive opportunity and business success," said Michael Kornhauser, executive vice president and general manager of ALK Technologies, who will kick off the program with introductory remarks.
Henderson will deliver the keynote address May 20 at 9:30 a.m. LaHood will speak at 8:30 a.m. in May 21.
"We are excited to have Richie Henderson as our keynote speaker this year,” Kornhauser said. “J.B. Hunt Transport, is one of the most innovative transportation logistics companies in North America and has been delivering transportation services for over 50 years. We are looking forward to Richie’s industry outlook and best practices."
Henderson is part of J.B. Hunt’s executive management team with business strategy leadership in information technology, engineered solutions, and implementation. He oversees corporate marketing and communications, supports investor relations, and guides the company’s internet strategy.
He played a key role in development of the company’s trademarked client retention process named Customer Value Delivery (CVD) a proactive, proprietary methodology that focuses not only on the execution of service and cost control, but also the ongoing measurement and communication of results.
Dan Popkin, senior vice president of enterprise solutions at ALK Technologies, noted that under LaHood’s leadership term the Department of Transportation made major improvements and investments in the nation’s infrastructure including the implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), awarding $48 billion in Recovery Act dollars for more than 15,000 transportation projects across the nation which created tens of thousands of jobs. Currently Secretary LaHood is helping lead Building America’s Future (BAF) bipartisan coalition of current and former elected officials who are committed to raising awareness about the need to invest in our nation’s roads, bridges, airports, rails and ports.
The conference theme, “Defining Best Practices for Productivity & Profitability,” will provide transportation, logistics and manufacturing companies with actionable advice on how to deploy operational efficiencies while accelerating revenue growth.
