Police standoff closes roads in Creve Coeur

CREVE COEUR, Mo. — A suburban St. Louis apartment complex is surrounded by police, as authorities try to coax out a man who barricaded himself inside one of the units.

St. Louis County police sent their tactical squad about 1:30 a.m. Monday to the Kings Landing apartment complex in Creve Coeur. Police say the man is alone and has no hostages.

It wasn't immediately clear what led to the standoff. Several busy roads were closed in the area as the standoff lingered into morning rush hour.
