BOULDER, Colo. — Aljex Software has created the position of vice president of technology and appointed Mark Leffers to the role.
Leffers will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of innovative technologies, with the goal of improving and maintaining Aljex’s flagship product Vision.
In this new role, Leffers will report directly to Aljex founder and CEO Tom Heine, streamlining the vision of the company’s innovative leader directly into its TMS platform.
Founded in 1995, and Web-based since 2003, Aljex pioneered the cloud-based TMS movement and has consistently innovated since, Heine said, adding that noteworthy innovations include SmartSearch, a tool to market loads to matching carriers, and the automated rate confirmation, an interactive document that promotes seamless collaboration between carriers and brokers.
Leffers will be spearheading the development and implementation of several key projects, including Aljex’s new cloud-based accounting system, new collections program, new self dispatching options, and dozens of other initiatives.
“Since Aljex’s inception, our mission has always been to make our customers' jobs more profitable and more efficient,” Heine said. “In this era of increasing e-commerce, that mission is more relevant than ever. I have the utmost confidence that Mark can help implement the right technology to guide our company, and continue our exceptional, sustained growth through this transformational period.”
Formerly a CPA with over 20 years experience, Leffers also had CFO and programming experience when he joined Aljex at its technology center in Boulder in 2015 to lead the group in developing Aljex’s new accounting module.
He was promoted to head of programming in September 2016, before being appointed to his new, more strategic, role.
Based in Somerville, New Jersey, with a technology center in Boulder, Colorado, Aljex Software has provided innovative, cloud-based software and business systems for freight brokers, 3PL’s, and carriers for more than 20 years, stated a company news release.
