Arkansas trucking firm placed in receivership

FORT SMITH, Ark. — A Fort Smith trucking company has been placed into receivership and stopped all its over the road operations.

C. Bean Transport is now being operated by Bell Receivers LLC of North Little Rock, Ark.

Bell spokesman Ron Fuller released a statement Wednesday saying the company is working for what is best for employees, their families, the creditors, and investors. Fuller said the company will continue to operate a warehouse in Fort Smith.

Fuller did not know how many jobs are affected. The U.S. Department of Transportation Web site said C. Bean Transport had 208 drivers in February.

The company was founded in 1991 and has operated throughout the continental United States. It had employees at locations in Fort Smith, Amity and Glenwood.
