COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — As part of its continuing efforts to support up-and-coming professional drivers, Averitt Express recently enhanced its tuition reimbursement package for those who choose to begin their career with Averitt.

Student drivers joining Averitt are now eligible for a $5,000 tuition assistance bonus, payable at a rate of $150 per month after completing orientation.

“There is a strong demand for quality drivers, and this is just one of the many ways we’re setting ourselves apart as we look to recruit and retain the best,” said Elise Leeson, Averitt’s vice president of human resources.

The tuition assistance enhancement is part of Averitt’s strong overall benefits package, which includes health, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) and profit sharing retirement plan, paid holidays, uniform allowances, and referral rewards, Leeson said.

Averitt associates also have access to driver support centers throughout the country that provide many comforts of home, and they are recognized for their efforts through a comprehensive performance rewards program that encourages safety and other positive behaviors.

Additionally, incoming student drivers have a valuable training resource in Averitt’s Finishing School, which teaches recent driving school graduates numerous maneuvers and safety procedures to prepare them for the road.

“All of these amenities help our team provide associates with the best workplace environment,” Leeson said.
