ELYRIA, Ohio — Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, the North American developer and manufacturer of active safety and braking system technologies for commercial vehicles, has appointed Stephen “Steve” Daukaus vice president, finance and IT, and chief financial officer.
Daukaus, who joined Bendix on September 5, also became the newest member of the Bendix Leadership Committee. He fills the position held previously by Arnfred Kulenkampff, who will retire at the end of 2017.
A global finance executive with more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, specializing in international operations, Daukaus came to Bendix after serving on an expatriate assignment as vice president, finance, for the automotive region of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at TE Connectivity in Bensheim, Germany. TE Connectivity is a $12 billion world leader in connectivity and sensor solutions.
Among his responsibilities, Daukaus supported a 200-person finance team across the region plus India. He was appointed to the role following his success in serving as the controller for the EMEA region legal entities, and prior to that, as a senior director for TE internal auditing in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
Before joining TE Connectivity in 2011, Daukaus held roles of increased responsibility at Exelon Corp. and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
“Steve’s deep understanding of global finance, particularly in the technical and industrial realm, and his distinguished record of leadership in the companies he’s served make him an outstanding addition to the Bendix team,” said Berend Bracht, president and CEO. “He’s a proven strategic thinker and seasoned manager of teams. We are thrilled that he has joined us, and we look forward to his contributions as Bendix continues growing and expanding.”
Daukaus holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from La Salle University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
