Diesel climbs again, up 2.9 cents to $2.861

The weekly retail on-highway U.S. diesel average rose for the second consecutive week, this time up $0.029 a gallon to $2.861 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The U.S. average was up $0.774 per gallon from last year.

All regions showed an increase in price this week, with the New England ($3.018) and Central Atlantic ($3.013) regions at the top of the price chart.

The lowest prices could be found in the Midwest ($2.825) and Gulf Coast ($2.819) regions this week.

California was up $0.043 per gallon to $3.023 a gallon which was up $0.879 per gallon from one year ago.
