THE WOODLANDS, Texas — FleetPride Inc., an independent aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, has acquired the assets of Express Truck Parts Inc. in San Jose, Calif.

The acquisition includes an approximate 10,000 square foot facility and brings the total number of FleetPride locations in California to 21, the company said. Express Truck Parts’ previous owner, Ken Stahl, will stay on in the role of Branch Manager and employment offers were extended to all employees.

Express Truck Parts is located on Highway 101 near the intersection of Interstate 880, both of which are key thoroughfares from San Francisco. San Jose has a strong industrial base, numerous large warehousing and distribution centers, and is the gateway to a thriving agricultural market south of the city, FleetPrice noted.

“These are all industries that rely on heavy-duty truck and trailer distribution methods, making San Jose a logical expansion choice for FleetPride,” said Steve Turnlund, regional manager, Western region. “San Jose is a strategic geographic compliment to our existing Hayward branch and allows us to extend our reach south of San Jose into markets that weren’t previously accessible from Hayward.”

FleetPride also said that because Truck Parts has been in the same location in San Jose for 33 years, they have a built-in, loyal following.

“Leveraging these existing customer relationships will allow us to quickly ramp up and result in significant growth and product line expansion going forward,” explained Mike Paxton, vice president, business development and strategic planning.

FleetPride Inc. operates 191 locations in 39 states and carries a full line of nationally recognized brand name parts, as well as an assortment of exclusive brand parts. In addition, FleetPride offers in-house remanufactured products such as brake shoes and driveline components. Truck and trailer repair services are also offered at a number of locations.

FleetCare, a heavy duty truck and trailer service center network, has more than 185 service providers across the country. FleetCare offers services for all makes and models at all locations, 24/7 toll-free locator service, dedicated Web site, technicians, brand name parts, nationwide parts warranty and roadside assistance in many locations.
