SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. — Indian River Transport has won the Platinum National Safety Award and the Gold Workplace Safety Award by Great West Casualty Co.
Indian River Transport is a liquid bulk foot grade tank carrier operating a fleet of 700 tractors and 1,000 trailers throughout the United States and offering import/export between the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
In making the award, Great West Casualty noted that Indian River Transport is nationally recognized as a leader in the industry for not only providing total quality service, but the safe operation of its fleet.
The Platinum Safety Award and Golf Workplace Award recognizes Indian River Transport’s dedication to the continuous improvement of work processes and safety measure through experience, technology and training.
The National Safety Awards program recognizes motor carriers in similar operations (truckload and less-than-truckload) with awards based on year-end preventable crash results. The Workplace Safety Awards program recognizes a company’s dedication to creating and fostering a safe work environment for employees and is based on the carrier’s year-end workplace incident rate.
Carriers are eligible to receive a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Participatory award.
