HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police issued more than 1,000 traffic citations and took 101 trucks out of service in a one-day commercial truck enforcement effort last month.

State police Commissioner Frank Pawlowski says the March 31 sweep focused on seat belt use, vehicle inspections and service logs.

Police say about 2,300 trucks were inspected across the state, with 1,130 citations issued. Ninty-four drivers were placed out of service and more than 1,500 were given written warnings.
